Welcome to Pan Pac Forest Products Limited – a Japanese owned, fully integrated forestry / timber products company, located in the Hawke's Bay region of New Zealand.

From establishment in 1971 the company has been located on the Whirinaki industrial site, 20 kilometres north of Napier. We also have cutting rights to over 33,000 hectares of plantation forests, at five forest locations in Hawke's Bay.

In 2007, Pan Pac became wholly owned by Oji Green Resources, a fully owned subsidiary of Oji Holdings Limited.

We grow, process and market forest-based products to meet global customer demand and shareholder expectations.

In December 2014 we established a subsidiary company, Pan Pac Forest Products Otago Limited which is a lumber business which will operate from two sites just south of Dunedin in the South Island at Milburn and Milton.

The Company

Our aim is to satisfy all of our customers' expectations, while continually adding value to the shareholders investment.

We believe that we are uniquely placed to be able to offer reliability and supply assurance to our customers. We are able to do this globally through genuine and enduring business relationships that have come from a blend of multicultural business philosophies.

We are committed to maintaining the best practicable safety, quality and environmental standards. We are focused on continuous improvement and strive for excellence in everything we do.

We care about our staff

We actively seek to employ, develop and retain skilled staff and contractors. We have a workforce of over 360 permanent staff and over 450 people contracted to assist in forestry, harvesting and transport operations.

High ethical standards are the cornerstone of all our relationships and as a result both staff and contractors exhibit strong loyalty to the company and our customers.

Safety

Keeping all people involved with our operations safe from harm is a primary objective.

This is fundamental to our management philosophy of providing quality service in an industry where people and plant may be subjected to hazards if safety rules and procedures are not observed.

Pathway to our health and safety vision is that;

"No one will be harmed as a result of our operations"

We make sure that our safety systems, employee participation and extensive training support this vision.

Supporting our community

We all have a part to play in making the Hawke's Bay a better place

Pan Pac supports the community in which we operate by making financial donations to a wide range of local charities, schools, sports clubs and other organisations. The biggest single donation was $1.6 million towards the upgrading of Napier's Municipal Theatre. The most recent major donation was continuing support of the Hawke's Bay Helicopter Rescue Trust.

Generally, we prefer to donate to groups or organisations rather than individuals, where there is a long-term benefit of a “helping hand” nature.

The Pan Pac Eskdale Mountain Bike Park

Bike through our beautiful forests

We have partnered with HB Mountain Bike Club and opened up a set of mountain bike tracks that run right through our Tangoio Forest.

This purpose built mountain bike trail is classed as one of New Zealand’s premiere mountain bike parks. It boasts more than 100 kilometres of purpose-built tracks catering for mountain bikers of all abilities on downhill and cross country trails.
