Community Consultation

Being a good neighbour is important to us.

Our Community Consultation Group meets regularly with resident representatives of households that border our Whirinaki site. We also work collaboratively with the Hawke’s Bay Regional Council (which monitors environmental impacts).

We actively work with organisations to improve environmental outcomes.

We have strong relationships with Forest and Bird Protection Society, the Department of Conservation, ECOED, Lifeforce Restoration Trust and the Hawke’s Bay Regional Council.

Our staff are involved in the Hawke’s Bay Biodiversity Strategy, Poutiri Ao ō Tāne project, regional pest control strategies, and strengthening existing predator control trapping to help protect endangered species like kiwi.
